Polar Bears
Polar bears are facing an unknown future. Because the climate is increasing in temperature, the polar bears are in serious danger of going extinct. They heavily
depend on the ice for their shelter as they aren't able to sustain high
temperatures, but the heat is melting away their natural habitat. Also, because people are exploiting and overusing resources, the polar
bears don't have much fish left to eat, and could die out.
I chose this article because we need to realize what we're doing to the environment and how damaging it is. We produced so much pollution that we caused the climate to change, and now the poor polar bears have to suffer from our actions. We definitely need to cut back on our fishing, if we continue fishing the way we are now, there will be no fish left. Already, the polar bears are suffering; they're emaciated from their lack of food and nutrients, and their habitat is melting away. Polar bears can't live in warm places; if the glaciers were to all melt away, then they would have no where else to live, and could possibly go extinct.
As humans, we are part of the reason this happened and need to take action. It's up to us to preserve our resources and keep the polar bears from going extinct. We should stop exploiting and using up our resources, over-fishing our oceans. We aren't the only ones on the planet, we can't keep living the way we're living right now. We can't be selfish and take more than we can carry, we have to think about the animals and the environment too. Our planet shouldn't be taken for granted; in the future, Earth could be a wasteland, and all the humans would be dead.
